Bo Tackett enjoys life with his family on The Hookin' Bull Ranch. From an early age he was known to be an "old soul" and portrayed a love for the cowboy way of life. Bo's love for cracking whips led to a curiosity in the art of plaiting and building whips. After a visit to see long time whip maker, 86 year old Clement Gordon, the two built a three foot whip together and Bo's plaiting then took off. Mr. Gordon became a mentor to Bo, inspiring him to carry the torch for a fleeting art of the past. For almost two years and after many trips to Marlin, TX to work alongside Mr. Gordon, Bo Tackett mastered the art of whip making. Clement Gordon was called home to be with the Lord on April 23, 2023 at the age of 90. Mr. Gordon will never be forgotten and his legacy will live on through every whip that Bo Tackett builds. Bo has been blessed to build whips for customers all over the United States, and continues to expand his product line and knowledge of plaiting.
Bo Tackett accepted Jesus Christ as his personal Savior at the age of 6 and has a deep love for the Lord. He hopes to use his plaiting as a way to tie people to Christ.
"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in Him will not perish, but have everlasting life."
